Our Professional Detailing Journey
When I got my first car it was dirty and dull. As a teenager I wanted to have the coolest car around. To be honest I became obsessed, watching videos and reading forums learning all about professional car detailing. After becoming properly educated I spent even more time looking for the best products and equipment. After that I got to work and began my detailing journey eventually mastering the craft and restoring my car to what I knew in my mind it could have always been.

My first car was dirty and dull, and I wanted it to stand out. I dove into videos and forums, learning real professional techniques. Then I invested in the right tools and products and put in the hours. The result was my first true restoration—a car that finally matched the vision I had from the start.

I started Automotive Aptitude at 17 with a Honda CR-V, a love for cars, and a need for gas money. I’d been washing my parents’ cars since I was nine, and that habit became a calling: take something people use every day and give it the care it deserves. Since then I’ve logged over 5,000 hours of detailing experience, built trusted relationships across Los Angeles and Orange County—from Malibu to San Clemente and the surrounding areas, and invested in a custom detailing van so I can bring a professional setup to every driveway. Nowadays I get to do Porsches, and that’s a big jump from where I started in my CR-V—but the standard hasn’t changed.
My philosophy is simple: quality is attention to detail and respect—for the car, the owner, and the process. I treat returning clients’ vehicles like familiar friends, communicating clearly and doing the quiet work that makes a car feel right again. Automotive Aptitude is enthusiast-owned and technician-led, built to be the kind of service I would personally hire: dependable, transparent, and focused on long-term care, not shortcuts.
