Car Care Made Simple.

Cerritos
You park at the Promenade for a Wingstop run, and ten minutes later there is a new layer of dust on the hood. Wash it Saturday, and by Wednesday the sprinklers on your street and the 605 have already put the film right back.
Half this city drives something new. If you picked yours up at Cerritos Auto Square, you remember exactly how it looked rolling off Studebaker. Keeping it that way is the part the dealership never mentions.
The wash is where it goes wrong. Soap only takes off what is loose, and anything bonded into the clear coat stays exactly where it is. Tunnel brushes trade that grime for the fine swirls you notice in the sun outside Los Cerritos Center.
So we start with what is bonded on. We pull it back out of the paint, polish down the marks you can see, then seal it so the next month of dust cannot get a grip. Your driveway, our water and power.

I am celebrating a year as Jaycen’s repeat customer. I trust him with my 5 year old white VW Tiguan which I take pride in looking sharp. He is responsive, polite, and professional.
Had my Tesla detailed by Automotive Aptitude, and they killed it with the detail and ceramic clear coat — my car has that brand new feel.

Answer a few quick questions about your car and we will match you to the right service, with a real price and only the add-ons that actually apply. It takes about a minute.
A clean car should stay clean longer than a weekend.
That is the difference between a fifteen dollar tunnel and what we do. Not how it looks the day of, but what it looks like three weeks later.
Most weeks we are already here, working in driveways off Studebaker or over by the Auto Square. Home base is close enough that travel almost never comes up.
Dust is the constant here, and it settles back in by midweek no matter how well the car was washed. A sealed or coated finish gives it far less to hold, so a rinse actually gets you back to clean. Older paint usually wants correction first.
That is the whole idea

Meet the owner
I am Jaycen. I started Automotive Aptitude four years ago out of Cerritos and I am still the one doing the work, start to finish. Over a thousand cars later, the van still leaves from here most mornings.
Everything from a daily driver Camry to a GT3 RS gets the same process. That is not a slogan. It is how I was taught to work and the only way I know how to hand a car back.
I am insured, and I will show you the certificate if you ask. If something is not right, say so at the walkthrough before I pack up. I would rather spend another twenty minutes on it than have you find it later.
Real person, real reply. Texts usually answered in under six hours, evenings included.
Shot in driveways, not studios
Daily drivers, weekend cars, and a few nobody else wanted to touch. Every one of these was done on site, on a street you probably drive down.

Field notes from home base
The Auto Square sells them clean. One bad tunnel wash on the way home and the hood already carries fine circles.
Morning sprinklers reach cars parked at the curb, and the drops dry into little white rings before you leave for work.
Half of Cerritos keeps the car inside. Those are the easiest cars in the county to keep looking new, if you start early.
Tell us the size and the prices update. Sedan covers most cars. SUV covers crossovers and mid size SUVs. Truck covers pickups, vans and big SUVs.
Most Cerritos cars start here, and the ones that stay with us usually end up corrected and coated — this is the first step of that path. Full details →
The reset before a coating: we pull the bonded grit out of the paint and seal it while you decide on the long-term protection. Full details →
The step before every coating we install — the swirls come out here, then the protection goes on top. Full details →
Service area
Cerritos is the middle of our run, so most weeks we are already here. If you are just outside it, that is usually fine too. There is no shop to drive to. The pin below is home base, and the van comes to you from there.
How it works
The math
Cerritos buys more new cars than anywhere we work. The day you get it is the cheapest day it will ever be to protect, because paint that has never been scrubbed needs almost no fixing first.
The one-year coating is $800. The seven-year is $1,600 and works out to about $19 a month. Kept nice once beats fixed twice, and the longest option is the cheapest one to own.
Every coating includes fixing the paint first, because a coating locks in whatever is under it.
Tell me what you drive and what is bugging you about it. I have been at this four years and past a thousand cars, so I will tell you what yours actually needs. No pressure, and no weird sales stuff.
