Automotive Aptitude is one person and one van. This page says plainly what this website and our booking system collect, why, who touches it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.

The short version
Automotive Aptitude is a sole-proprietor mobile car detailing business owned and operated by Jaycen Smith, based in Cerritos, California and working across Los Angeles and Orange County. There is no shop — the work happens where your car is parked. This policy covers automotiveaptitude.com, our online booking page, and the messages and records that come from working on your car. Our text-messaging program is described in the Terms of Service.

We do not sell or share personal information for money or for cross-context advertising, and we never have.
Contact details. Your name, mobile number and email address — when you send the contact form, use the Detail Designer, book online, call or text us.
Vehicle and job details. The year, make, model, size and color of the car; the address where the work happens and any gate or parking note you give us; the services chosen and any add-ons; notes you type; and the date and time you pick.
Payment records. The amount paid, when, and how. Card payments and the $100 coating or correction deposit are processed by Stripe on Stripe’s own pages — we never see or store your full card number.
Photos of the work. Photos of your car before, during and after the job, which we take on site (see Photos of the work).
How you found us. If you arrive from a Google or Meta ad, the page you came from and the ad’s click identifier travel with your booking or form so we know which ad brought you. This is the only way we can tell which ads are worth paying for.
Ordinary website data. Like every website, our hosting provider’s server logs record your IP address, browser and the pages requested. The analytics and advertising tools below also set cookies — see Cookies & ads.
We do not send marketing blasts, and we never use your details for anything unrelated to your car.
We do not sell or share your personal information or your SMS opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your mobile number and your text-messaging consent are never shared with any third party; they are used only by Automotive Aptitude to communicate with you about your service.
We use service providers only to run the business, and each receives only what it needs for that job:
Until our own booking system fully replaces it, bookings made through the “Book now” buttons may also be recorded in Urable, the scheduling software we have used to date.
We will disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone’s safety.
This website uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics, Google Ads conversion measurement and the Meta pixel. These set cookies in your browser so that we can see, in aggregate, which pages people read and whether an ad led to a call, a form or a booking. Google’s call-forwarding numbers may appear on our pages when you arrive from a Google ad; a call to one of them is counted as an ad conversion. Maps on our city pages are embedded from Google Maps, which may set its own cookies.
Remarketing. Google Ads and Meta may use those cookies to show you our ads later on other sites and apps (“remarketing”). We do not use sensitive categories for any targeting, and we do not upload customer lists to either platform.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, opt out of personalised ads at adssettings.google.com and in your Facebook and Instagram ad preferences, and install Google’s Analytics opt-out. The site works the same either way. We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals, because the tools above do not read them; blocking cookies achieves the same result.

If you agree to receive texts from Automotive Aptitude, we use your mobile number only for the appointment and service messages described in the SMS Terms. Reply STOP to any message to stop.
We photograph the car before, during and after the job — it is how we document condition, show you what was done, and back a coating warranty. Finished-work photos may appear in our portfolio, on this website and on our social media; we do not show license plates, addresses or anything that identifies you. If you would rather your car were not shown anywhere, tell us at the job or any time after and we will take it down.
The website and the booking page are served over HTTPS. Card details go straight to Stripe and never touch our systems. Booking records live in our own system behind a sign-in that only Jaycen holds; there is no staff, no shared inbox and no reseller. If a breach ever affected your information we would tell you promptly, as California law requires, and say what happened and what we did about it.
We keep booking and payment records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet tax and warranty obligations. Form messages and quote requests that never become a job are kept for a reasonable period in case you come back, then cleared. Ask us at any time and we will show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete what we are not required to keep.
California residents have the right to know what personal information a business collects and to ask for its deletion; the two lines above are how you exercise them with us. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
This website is for adults booking work on their own vehicles. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new “last updated” date. For a change that matters to how we use your information, we will tell existing customers by text or email. Earlier versions are available on request.
