Why does the paint look chalky by August?
You park outside off State College or up in Anaheim Hills, and by late summer the roof and hood carry a dull, chalky cast that no wash brings back. The color looks tired even when the car is clean.
Sun is the slowest damage there is. Anaheim sits in full sun most of the year, and UV works on bare clear coat every day the car sits outside. It dries the paint out and flattens the color, and you never see it happening until it is done.
A wash will not bring it back. Soap cleans, it does not restore. Once oxidation sets in, the dead layer has to come off by machine before the color underneath can show again.
So we bring the depth back, then defend it. We polish the oxidized layer off, restore the gloss, then seal or coat the paint so the sun has something to burn through that is not your clear coat.

I am Jaycen. I run Automotive Aptitude out of Cerritos, about twenty minutes down the 91, and after four years and over a thousand cars I still do the work myself.
Anaheim cars mostly fight the sun. Half of what I see here is oxidation and sprinkler spotting, and I would rather explain what is actually happening to your paint than sell you a package you do not need.
I am insured and happy to show the certificate. At the end we walk the car together and you tell me if anything is off before I load up.

The math
Fading is the expensive kind of slow
Oxidized paint costs real money to bring back, and it can only be brought back so many times. Stopping the sun early is the cheapest paint job you will never need.
The one-year coating is $800. The seven-year is $1,600 and works out to about $19 a month. Kept nice once beats fixed twice, and the longest option is the cheapest one to own.
Every coating includes fixing the paint first, because a coating locks in whatever is under it.

What do most people here book?
The full detail, from $150. On a car that lives outside in this much sun, the paint usually needs more than a wash before anything else is worth doing.
My paint looks dull and chalky. Can that be fixed?
Usually, yes. That is oxidation, and a machine polish removes the dead layer so the color underneath shows again. Send a photo in daylight and we will tell you honestly how far gone it is.
Is a ceramic coating worth it in this much sun?
More here than most places. A coating carries real UV protection, so the sun works on the coating instead of your clear coat. They start at $800 and include paint correction first.
Is wax enough for a car parked outside?
Not in Anaheim. Wax softens and burns off in weeks out here. A sealant lasts a season and a coating lasts years, so wax is the one you would be redoing all summer.
Can you work at an apartment or condo building?
Yes, we do most weeks. A space in the lot or at the curb is enough, because the van brings its own water and power.
Can you do it while I am at work?
Yes, and most people do it that way. Leave the keys, we text you when it is done, and we walk the car together if you are back in time.
How long does it take?
An exterior detail is about an hour. A full detail is longer and a ceramic coating is a full day. We confirm the exact window when you book.
