Those white rings are not just dried water
Park on a street off Commonwealth or near the CSUF lots and the sprinklers find your car before sunrise. By the weekend the lower panels and glass carry rings that a wash will not touch.
Sprinkler water is mineral water. It dries in the morning sun and leaves calcium sitting on the paint. Give it a few weeks of that cycle and the minerals start etching into the clear coat itself.
Soap does not touch minerals. A wash lifts dirt, not deposits that have bonded or etched into the clear coat. Scrubbing harder just adds swirls on top of the spots.
So we dissolve, polish, and protect. A mineral remover takes the deposits off, a machine polish levels what has etched, and a sealant or coating makes the next round rinse away instead of biting in.

I am Jaycen. I run Automotive Aptitude out of Cerritos, about fifteen minutes up the 91, and after four years and over a thousand cars I still do the work myself.
Fullerton cars come to me wearing water spots more than anything else. Older streets, morning sprinklers, and a car that sleeps outside is all it takes, and I would rather explain what is happening to your paint than sell you a package you do not need.
I am insured and happy to show the certificate. At the end we walk the car together and you tell me if anything is off before I load up.

Sprinkler water is mineral water, and minerals etch. The layer they land on decides whether they wipe off or bite in.

Can water spots be removed, or are they permanent?
It depends how long they have sat. Fresh deposits dissolve with a mineral remover. Once they have etched rings into the clear coat, it takes machine polishing to level them, and we tell you which yours are before any work starts.
What do most people here book?
The full detail, from $150, usually because of what the sprinklers have left behind. Decontamination is part of it rather than an extra.
I park in an apartment lot near CSUF. Does that work?
Yes, we work apartment lots most weeks. A space beside the car is enough, because the van brings its own water and power.
Will a ceramic coating stop the spots?
It changes what happens next. On a coated car the minerals sit on the surface and rinse away instead of etching in. Coatings start at $800 and include paint correction first.
Is wax enough to protect against sprinklers?
Not really. Water spots go straight through wax. A sealant holds up better, and a coating is the only thing that lasts years rather than weeks.
Do you need my water and power?
No. Everything comes with the van, so all we need is somewhere to park beside the car.
How long does it take?
An exterior detail is about an hour. A full detail is longer and a ceramic coating is a full day. We confirm the exact window when you book.
